# Tasks and Quests

Tasks are the main system that guides users through Peptype and provides regular progression. 

**Tasks reward both Points and XP, where:**

* Points are used for progression and leaderboard-style metrics
* XP is used to unlock loot boxes tied to task categories

#### Task Categories

**Peptype tasks are split into several categories:**

* Start Quests: onboarding flow for new users
* Daily Tasks: repeating tasks that refresh every day
* Social Tasks: one-time tasks related to community actions

#### Claiming Tasks

**Rules:**

* a task can be completed in the background
* once completed, it becomes claimable
* rewards are granted only after pressing Claim
* unclaimed rewards remain available until claimed

*Task progress is tracked automatically, but rewards are received only after claiming.*
